If not massive destruction, which Poland suffered during the Great Swedish Deludge (Potop Szwedzki) and later during the First and Second World War, Poland would probably be one of the European country with the largest number of impressive castles and fortresses.

It is not surprising that in Poland there were many castles and that, a lot of them were destroyed throug the time.
